“Until Heidi Hapanowicz, no one had ever taken a good photo of me. Never. Even my baby photos were horrible (good thing my parents loved me). Over the years there have been a few pretty-good photos, but for the most part, the camera and I do not have not had a good relationship.
But when I met Heidi, I knew instantly that if anyone could get a good photo of me, it was her. So when this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came up for a business branding session (photo shoot with Heidi + branding with the ultimate branding strategist none other than Ashley Ambirge), in LONDON, I eagerly threw $$$$$ their way and booked my flight in July of 2017.
I’ve never met someone as committed to getting the perfect shot as Heidi. There we were, in this completely posh flat in Notting Hill, going through the outfits Heidi’s trusted, brilliant stylist Hilde Fossen had picked out for me, and shooting all kinds of indoor photos because it was raining that day. And there was Heidi, rapping Eminem to get me to laugh so my face would look relaxed. At one point she was on a balcony outside, leaning backwards over the edge, and holding an umbrella over her - just to get this one particular angle of me on the velvet sofa.
When she showed me some of the shots she had taken I thought I’d burst into tears. Suddenly I felt so confident about my new business and my brand, I felt like I could take over the world. That’s how good Heidi is.
But I couldn’t cry because then I’d ruin my makeup and fake eyelashes, and we still had a few hours left for even more photos. As you can see from the photos, the rain let up and we got some great (IMHO) shots.
If you have the chance to book a brand photo shoot with Heidi, DO IT. Not only is she a Mensa-level genius with her camera, she’s a RIOT. I never knew a photoshoot could be so much fun.
